Koa table top made of live edge koa

This is a large live edge koa slab table top we made for a customer who already had a koa table base. This live edge koa slab was purchased from the Big Island and is a very rare find. It is a sister slab of another koa table we built a few months ago. Some interesting feather crotch grain characters going on, on one end of the koa slab. The surface has been coated with clear coat conversion varnish. Handcrafted in Honolulu, Hawaii by furniture maker Satoshi Yamauchi.

Koa dining table made by furniture maker Satoshi Yamauchi in Honolulu, Hawaii. This koa slab dining table was made from a very large koa slab from the big island. The original slab measured over 9 feet long and nearly 4 feet wide.

Koa dining table just completed by Satoshi Yamauchi. Handcrafted in Honolulu, Hawaii. This koa dining table measures 57” x 38” and made entirely of Hawaian koa wood. Ssome of the koa boards show some beautiful curly figures.

This koa slab entry table is Satoshi’s latest creation. The table was designed to have a shrine-esque feel. Made of koa and monkeypod wood, both Hawaii-grown. Live edges being on the sides, makes this entry table truly unique.

This exquisite Hawaiian koa slab table is made from 100% Big Island koa wood. The widest part of the table top measures 44″, narrowing down to 33″ on the opposite end. This wide koa slab is an extremely rare find. Our client and our team flew into Big Island to look for and select the slab.
