What is the lead time?

Each project is unique and the time it requires to build will vary based on the detail and complexity of the project. As of May 2021, we have a turn around time of about 3 months.

What kind of furniture do you make?

We make both furniture and cabinets. Furniture pieces include dining table, benches, chairs, credenzas, media consoles, console tables, side tables, beds, headboards, desks and so forth. We also offer other woodworking services such as building kitchen cabinets, vanities, built-in entertainment centers and so on. If you are looking for custom woodworking, we probably make it if it’s made of wood.

Do you have a showroom?

We do not have a showroom as everything we build is custom ordered. However, you may visit our workshop to see works in progress. You can also see our work at Kahala Hotel (Hotel reception and wall panels, Plumeria restaurant buffet tables, Veranda coffee tables), cakeM and IASS airport lounge.

Do you ship to neighbor islands?

Yes! We ship our furniture to neighbor islands. For example crating a dining table and bench will cost approximately $1,000. We can either air freight or ship the crate. For neighbor islands, we ship COD so the ocean freight is paid by the customer on the receiving end.

Do you ship to mainland US or other countries?

We currently do not ship to mainland US or other countries. It is our wish to provide the best service for our customers. We feel that it is in the interest of our customers to buy furniture locally for best product and service.

What kind of woods do you use?

We generally use hardwoods from Hawaii and mainland US. A lot of our furniture pieces are made of local Hawaiian monkeypod or koa wood. Some of the mainland US woods are walnut, maple, ash, cherry, oak and sapele. All of the woods we use are sustainably harvested. We do have access to exotic and figured woods and we can incorporate them into your piece of furniture.

We will give you a rough estimate what a typical project similar to yours cost in the past.

Delivery

What finish do you put on your wood to protect it?

Our default finish is a conversion varnish called Krystal by ML Campbell, which is often referred to as lacquer. It is very much water resistant and spills will generally not result in ring marks. We still recommend wiping off spills in a few minutes to avoid disappointments.

We do offer less durable but “easier to refinish at home” finishes at home. These include oil finish, urethane based finish, a wax and oil combination finish, and so on. Some of the products we have used are: Osmo, Rubiomonocoat, Watco Danish Oil, Tung Oil, Minwax polyurethane and so on.
