Mango chair wins 1st place at the Hawaii Woodshow 2021

We collaborated with Michael Bennett, local artist, to create this unique mango chair. It is titled “Igo” representing Michael’s African roots. The chair won First Place in the First Time Entrants category at the Hawaii Woodshow 2021.

The mango chair combines African, Japanese and Hawaiian elements. The design is inspired by both African and Japanese cultures while the material, mango, is from Hawaii.

The chair was designed and redesigned to achieve an ergonomical chair that is beautiful to see but also extremely comfortable to sit in.
