Bookmatched walnut table with ebony butterflies

A bookmatched walnut slab dining table featuring ebony butterfly joints. This table showcases beautiful Japanese joinery. The table top is made of bookmatched claro walnut slabs from the state of Oregon. The base design is a replica of the famous George Nakashima’s Conoid Table. Measuring at L72″ W40″ H29-1/2″, this is a 4-6 seater table. (Chairs shown are Profile Chairs designed by Matthew Hilton for Case.)

Monkeypod slab desk with metal legs

Here’s a desk we made a couple of months ago. We glued up two Oahu North Shore monkeypod slabs and matched them with black steel  legs. One long side of the top features a nice curvy edge and the other end of the desk top was cut straight to allow it to be placed snug to the wall.

Slab wood dining table in a mid century style home

Towards the end of last year we delivered a dining table of ours. It was made of solid wood local Hawaiian monkey pod featuring natural live edges. The clean sap wood boasts shades of light yellow colors, at the same time showcasing subtle curves. The monkeypod top is made up of two slabs from the very same monkey pod tree grown in Hawaii.
