Satoshi Yamauchi was born in Ibaragi, Japan. He currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii, with his wife, Marcia and son, Leo. Satoshi started his career making wooden furniture for a furniture manufacturing business consisting of around 10 furniture makers. The time spent there gave Satoshi extensive experience in both commercial and custom furniture making. Hawaiian Monkeypod Coffee Table

This coffee table was inspired by modern Italian design. It features Hawaiian monkeypod wood table top with natural curves, sitting on a stainless steel flat bar base. It measures L36″ x W36″ x H16″. The monkeypod was salvaged from the north shore area on Oahu. Two long edges have been shaped with curves. The stainless steel base has been fabricated in Hawaii too.

Monkeypod waterfall bench

Here is our waterfall bench made of local hawaiian wood, known as monkeypod. The continuous grain flows beautifully from one leg to the other. We kept the natural edges of the monkeypod slab for a dynamic design. The shelves are made of oak, finished with black lacquer. This handcrafted bench compliments a contemporary home very nicely.

George Nakashima tribute tables
