Honolulu based furniture maker

Satoshi Yamauchi was born in Ibaragi, Japan. He currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii, with his wife, Marcia and son, Leo. Satoshi started his career making wooden furniture for a furniture manufacturing business consisting of around 10 furniture makers. The time spent there gave Satoshi extensive experience in both commercial and custom furniture making. To widen his experience and knowledge, he then worked for a sofa manufacturer gaining a background in upholstery.

Satoshi’s influences as a furniture maker have been varied, including Japanese joinery, mid century, modern, and Shaker style. He feels most at home within the contemporary and mid century designs. As a small shop practice, Satoshi Yamauchi offers the kind of quality and attention to detail not commonly found in larger shops and self taught makers.

Feel free to contact Marcia at Satoshi Yamauchi Woodworks to discuss your custom furniture project at 808-354-3850. Mahalo for looking!
