Monkeypod slab desk with metal legs

Here’s a desk we made a couple of months ago. We glued up two Oahu North Shore monkeypod slabs and matched them with black steel  legs. One long side of the top features a nice curvy edge and the other end of the desk top was cut straight to allow it to be placed snug to the wall.

Slab wood dining table in a mid century style home

Towards the end of last year we delivered a dining table of ours. It was made of solid wood local Hawaiian monkey pod featuring natural live edges. The clean sap wood boasts shades of light yellow colors, at the same time showcasing subtle curves. The monkeypod top is made up of two slabs from the very same monkey pod tree grown in Hawaii. Highly figured monkeypod table

Here is a highly figured monkeypod dining table with feather crotch features is a one-of-a-kind sable made locally in Kakaako, Honolulu. The slab was salvaged locally too, making this an extremely environmentally-friendly piece of furniture. This special slab top was matched with mid century walnut legs. Its compact size, being 52″ long and 30″ wide, is perfect for condo living. The whole table has been finished with clear coat satin varnish.

Hawaiian Koa Slab Table

This exquisite Hawaiian koa slab table is made from 100% Big Island koa wood. The widest part of the table top measures 44″, narrowing down to 33″ on the opposite end. This wide koa slab is an extremely rare find. The base is inspired by the historically relevant George Nakashima’s table. The rounded leg posts and the arch make this table elegant.
