Monkeypod slab desk with metal legs

Here’s a desk we made a couple of months ago. We glued up two Oahu North Shore monkeypod slabs and matched them with black steel  legs. One long side of the top features a nice curvy edge and the other end of the desk top was cut straight to allow it to be placed snug to the wall.

Hawaiian Monkeypod Coffee Table

This coffee table was inspired by modern Italian design. It features Hawaiian monkeypod wood table top with natural curves, sitting on a stainless steel flat bar base. It measures L36″ x W36″ x H16″. The monkeypod was salvaged from the north shore area on Oahu. Two long edges have been shaped with curves. The stainless steel base has been fabricated in Hawaii too.

Hawaiian Koa Slab Table

This exquisite Hawaiian koa slab table is made from 100% Big Island koa wood. The widest part of the table top measures 44″, narrowing down to 33″ on the opposite end. This wide koa slab is an extremely rare find. The base is inspired by the historically relevant George Nakashima’s table. The rounded leg posts and the arch make this table elegant. Monkeypod waterfall bench

Here is our waterfall bench made of local hawaiian wood, known as monkeypod. The continuous grain flows beautifully from one leg to the other. We kept the natural edges of the monkeypod slab for a dynamic design. The shelves are made of oak, finished with black lacquer. This handcrafted bench compliments a contemporary home very nicely.
